Hailey's Wish Focuses on

Shade Structures & Sun Exposure

Hailey's Wish playgrounds are specifically designed to meet the needs of children with the most severe disabilities.  These children with severe disabilities who are affected by significant health conditions are more susceptible to the risks associated with sun exposure due to their medical diagnoses and prescribed medications.  In addition to the dermatological risks, these children are more susceptible to dehydration and heat stroke.  It is important to ensure we protect our children against the harmful risks of sun exposure while they are playing at the playground.

Goal

Hailey's Wish is making dedicated efforts to add shade structures to the Christmas Tree Park Inclusive Playground.  These structures will provided shaded areas to play and explore.

Sun Safety

Hailey's Wish is committed to raising awareness about the importance of sun safety for children at the playground.  This is particularly important for our children with disabilities.  We hope you find the information provided on this page helpful.

Dreams do Come True!

We are already working on our next project goals and we can wait to share more details soon!

A year ago, we created the vision board above to share our dream of bringing a sensory trail to life—complete with musical instruments, interactive sensory panels, and accessible raised garden beds. Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of our community, that dream is becoming a reality. We have now secured all of the elements needed to create the sensory trail.

 

Even more exciting, our original vision has grown beyond what we imagined. Through the generous support of a grant, we now have the opportunity to create a dedicated sensory garden in addition to the sensory trail, transforming our initial dream into an even more engaging, inclusive, and meaningful experience for visitors of all abilities. 

Hailey's Wish is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established as a fund of the Community Foundation of Carroll County.
