Hailey's Wish Focuses on
Shade Structures & Sun Exposure
Hailey's Wish playgrounds are specifically designed to meet the needs of children with the most severe disabilities. These children with severe disabilities who are affected by significant health conditions are more susceptible to the risks associated with sun exposure due to their medical diagnoses and prescribed medications. In addition to the dermatological risks, these children are more susceptible to dehydration and heat stroke. It is important to ensure we protect our children against the harmful risks of sun exposure while they are playing at the playground.
Goal
Hailey's Wish is making dedicated efforts to add shade structures to the Christmas Tree Park Inclusive Playground. These structures will provided a shaded rest area adjacent to the playground and over the activity panel play areas.
